Midlet Review, perhaps the first ever mobile games reviews site, has been put up for sale by its owner Jan Weber.

The site, which has been going since late 2003, revealed the news in a terse post last month:

“"We are looking for parties interested in acquiring the whole website Midlet Review with all its content and copyrights. We are currently not able to update and maintain Midlet Review on a regular base anymore but we also do not want the page to go down."”

Reporting the news, Mobile Games Blog suggests a buyer may be hard to find, with "a name that might be just a bit too geeky to be remembered by the average John Doe".

I know what you're thinking. Is Steel Media (the publisher of Pocket Gamer and this website) a candidate to buy it?

I put this to boss Chris James, who expressed regret on behalf of Midlet Review, but refused to be drawn on whether Steel Media is a potential buyer.
