With this year's event pencilled in for November 13-14, organisers behind the Montreal International Game Summit have begun their search for speakers, putting out a call for those looking to "share their knowledge" through a one hour lecture.

MIGS 2012 is pitched as the biggest event dedicated to Canada's gaming professionals, with this year's theme settling on the future, and the unknown.

Future focus

As such, while the talks in question can focus on one of six gaming disciplines business, arts and VFX, audio, design, production or technology they will also be required to touch base with how those working in the industry can stay ahead of the curve, what the new trends might be moving forward and what the future might hold.

"Last year brought us a phenomenal edition of MIGS, with 1,700 people attending the event and sharing their knowledge," said MIGS director Marie Claude Bernard.

"And the event clearly exceeded expectations; according to a survey, 95 percent of the participants want to repeat the experience.

"To continue our tradition of providing exceptional content and an outstanding experience for gaming professionals, we're once again looking for the field's leading experts."

Deadline day

Organisers have also confirmed that 2012's MIGS will also play host to the second edition of the Canadian Game Development Talent Awards, described as an "integral part of this year’s programming."

Those looking to speak need to make their submission to the advisory board before 20 April.
