Mpowerplayer launches consumer mobile games portal

US mobile gaming tech firm Mpowerplayer has launched a consumer portal called Mplayit.com.
The site is offering free mobile game demos, embedded in the website using the company's own widget.
63 games are currently listed, including big titles from EA Mobile, Glu Mobile, Gameloft, Hands-On Mobile, Namco Bandai, I-play, Digital Chocolate and Sega Mobile among others. All the big players in the US market, basically.
The Mplayit site will also provide links to purchase the games from publishers' own websites where possible (which usually then deep-link to carrier decks), and from D2C portal Thumbplay when not.
The aim is to make the portal a new way for consumers to discover mobile games. "We're striving to be an educational direct-to-consumer channel to embrace and extend what's currently out there," says biz dev VP Joe Ariganello.
