Mpowerplayer launches mobile game discovery service for MySpace

US firm Mpowerplayer has announced the launch of its Mplayit Mobile Arcade app for MySpace, following its launch earlier this month for Facebook.

The application lets people play free mobile games demos, while feeding their activity into their social networking profile for friends to see.

The MySpace app uses Google's OpenSocial technology to link everything up. Mpowerplayer boss Michael Powers is certainly enthusiastic.

"We see this as a critical milestone in our drive to reach new and untapped markets for mobile games," he says.

"MySpace remains one of the most popular social networks, and the recent addition of applications makes it even more powerful. MySpace is a perfect fit for the Mplayit Mobile Arcade."

The MySpace app can be found here. At the time of writing, the Facebook version has more than 18,300 monthly active users.
