Having previously signed deals covering the Middle East, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, EA Mobile and publisher Nazara have extended their agreement to Africa.

The deal gives Nazara exclusive distribution rights to telecom operators in 49 countries including Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania and Ghana.

Games such as Need For Speed The Run and FIFA 13 will be made available for Android and Java phones via Nazara's N Play platform.

Happy faces

"We are delighted to extend the reach of our relationship with EA to cover the emerging gaming market in the African continent," said Nitish Mittersain, Nazara's CEO.

"Our alliance with EA in the Middle East has resulted in significant successes for both companies and we look forward to expanding our footprint across the African region,"

"Nazara has already successfully driven EA content to consumers across the Middle East and India," echoed Catalina Lou, one of EA's regional senior sales directors. "We are pleased to extend this relationship."
