New release roundup: A Kindling Forest, Tengami, Hardcore Leveling Warrior and more

While the deals and the stats of the gaming world are important, nothing would happen without the research, funding and, of course, development that goes into making a great game.

So here’s a collection of the most exciting new mobile games right now, the developers and publishers behind them, and why, exactly, they've made the cut.

Tengami

An atmospheric adventure set inside a virtual pop-up book, Tengami takes clear inspiration from Japanese tradition with legends, fairy tales and paper-based visuals abound. Its distinct art direction meshes with the gameplay too, as players are tasked with flipping, folding and sliding digital pages to navigate the world.

Developed by Nyamyam, Tengami started out as a mobile game in 2014 before making the move to PC and console. Now its back to its most portable form through publisher Crunchyroll, with Premium subscribers able to play the book-like game ad-free.

Sailor Cats 2: Space Odyssey

Sailor Cats 2: Space Odyssey is the sequel to Sailor Cats, created by Platonic Games and available through Crunchyroll’s Game Vault. In the casual adventure title, players will go on an interstellar mission to rescue cats from across the galaxy. 

The title combines a love for cats and the casual genre to offer a relaxed space exploration theme with features such as customisable characters as well as the ability to venture out and find various collectible items.

Hardcore Leveling Warrior

Webtoon series Hardcore Leveling Warrior has turned multimedia with the launch of a mobile game by the same name, where fans can re-experience the webtoon story and newcomers can jump in for the first time.

Now in idle RPG form, SuperPlanet has packed Hardcore Leveling Warrior with plenty of illustrations and colourful characters, each fighting to be the best in the PVP Nightmare mode.

A Kindling Forest

Dennis Berndtsson has resurrected players into the roguelike world of A Kindling Forest, where forest spirits must face an ancient demon plaguing the world. It’s not as easy as all that, though.

Jumping and shooting their way over soothing backdrops and diverse environments, players must beware that their arrows are their life force - this game may be an auto-runner, but running out means the end of the game.

Reviver

Published by Cotton Game, Reviver is a narrative focused point-and-click puzzle game that explores themes around love, fate and time. Players will make choices that alter the path of the game's two main characters. 

The title is available on iOS and Android as well as a demo version of the game being available on Steam.
