So here’s a collection of the most exciting new mobile games right now, the developers and publishers behind them, and why, exactly, they've made the cut.

Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond

Cygames’ strategic new card game Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond is targeting seasoned Shadowverse fans and series newcomers with a fully voice-acted story, seven unique classes to choose from and plenty of cards to build into unique decks.

In this latest iteration of the digital card collector, players can open a free card pack every day and add new "super-evolved" cards to their battle decks for a major power boost. Accounts can also be linked with the original Shadowverse for in-game bonuses.

Fortnite Blitz Royale

Shortly after Fortnite’s triumphant return to the App Store in the US, Epic Games has launched a new mobile-first game mode called Blitz Royale, a roguelike distilled down into five-minute sessions.

The mode sees 32 players face off in fan-favourite locations and encourages aggressive play with powerful weapons unlocked by defeating opponents. It's only available until July 15th.

Sort Dash: Colour Match!

Lion Studios and Machina Games have teamed up again for another puzzler, Sort Dash: Colour Match!

Following the success of Card Shuffle Sort, Sort Dash tasks players with strategically aligning 10 cards of a target colour to progress from level to level, of which there are already more than 1,000 to complete. In modern mobile fashion, there are also boosters to help along the way.

What Duck

Delivering duck-based defence to iOS and Android, Nexelon’s What Duck has players tactically place waterfowl in every environment from a cartoony snowscape to a dinosaur-laden land. These ducks also come with Hero Skills to turn the tide in tower defence battles.

Patch Quest

Available on mobile exclusively for Crunchyroll subscribers, Lychee Game Labs’ patch quest throws players into a melting pot of genres as they work together with monsters to escape a moving maze.

Part monster collector, part shooter, part metroidvania, bullet-hell and roguelike, gamers are required to use every skill at their disposal to lasso their way to freedom.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Match Queen

It’s not unusual to see popular brands taking a crack at the match-3 mobile market. The latest dressing to impress is RuPaul’s Drag Race Match Queen, where East Side Games has merged fashion and puzzle gameplay while allowing fans to design outfits using clothing seen in the TV show.

Leaving Home

Diverting from colour-based titles like Orange and Purple, Bart Bonte’s latest minimalist puzzler is Leaving Home, a point-and-click adventure containing quirky challenges which embody the surreal state of waking up at 7AM.
