Honey I broke the App Store
There was pandemonium on the US Paid chart for a couple of hours last night when Steve Jobs forgot to read the instructions provided with that strange mogwai beastie he bought from the Chinese take-away and gremlins ensued.
Steve. Dont feed it after midnight etc...
Whatever the reason, it provided plenty of blogosphere interest as such well known games as Worlds Hardest Game, Alice in Bomberland, and SpongeBob Diner Dash crashed into the US Paid top 10.
Indeed, for a moment, when looking down the Paid Top 100, there were less than 20 games wed actually expect to feature there.
Quite how the chart got into such a mess is no doubt now being discussed in an office on 1 Infinite Loop, although some companies were quick to tweet about their new found luck/chart position.
Still, somehow, someone at Cupertino had a back up and eventually normal service was resumed with Skee-Ball, Fling! and Tap Tap Revenge 3 making up the US paid top 3 as per usual.
Phew...
