Samsung pulls Galaxy Tab 7.7 from IFA consumer electronics show

The legal wrangling between Samsung and Apple continues apace, as Samsung has been forced to withdraw its Galaxy 7.7 tablet from the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin, Germany.

The tablet had been revealed to consumers in Berlin on Friday, but a new injunction issued by a Dusseldorf court has since forced it to withdraw the device due to the ongoing patent infringement case with Apple.

Injunction "limits consumer choice"

It was initially unclear whether the device had been pulled from the show directly because of the injunction or for other reasoning within the South Korea based manufacturer. However, Samsung soon issued a statement via spokesman to confirm their situation.

“Samsung respects the court’s decision,” said Samsung's James Chung. He also went on to add that the injunction “severely limits consumer choice in Germany.”

In late August, a Dusseldorf court overruled a similar injunction placed upon the Galaxy Tab 10.1, allowing Samsung to sell the device across Europe after it had initially been banned.

There were also accusations of Apple falsifying evidence in its case against the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
