Continuing to build out support for its mobile, PC/web, TV platform, UK outfit Antix has announced that its TV Game Player service will be showcased in Broadcom's BCM7346 satellite set-top box at IBC 2011, in Amsterdam, 9 -13 September.
The distribution technology allows games to be shared from Broadcom-based STBs to mobile devices and PCs for an on-the-go gaming experience.
Console quality
Games supported on the OpenGL 2.0 platform include Raging Thunder 2 by Polarbit, Drift Away by BlueBeck, ZooCube by Puzzlekings.
"Consumers have increasingly high expectations of games and our work with Broadcom clearly demonstrates the quality of service now available," said Antix's CEO Francis Charig.
This news follows on from the announcement that the player will be supported by Taiwanese company MStar Semiconductor's single chip TV platform.
