Organisers behind this month's F2P Summit in London have unveiled Erica May, mobile product manager at Mind Candy, as the event's opening keynote.
Bound for Rich Mix in Shoreditch on 10 October, May's keynote called 'Inside the Mind of Design for Distribution' will focus on the issue of "building games from the ground up with social in mind", explaining how social features can impact retention, distribution and monetisation.
Socially speaking
"Games are better when they have a social element," said May of her forthcoming talk.
"People inherently want to connect and share with one another, which is why its so important that developers create experiences that players not only love, but that they can share safely with their friends and family.
"I have always been fascinated with how social can make games into a rich experience and Im looking forward to sharing what Ive learned with delegates at the F2P Summit."
Other speakers confirmed for the event include Tim Wickstead from indie outfit Twice Circled, who is set to reveal the five mistakes and lessons he learned as an indie developer.
The F2P Summit will also close with a roundtable focusing on how developers should monetise releases aimed at children, featuring UKIE chairman Andy Payne and ustwo games head Neil McFarland, amongst others.
