Tencent has now launched its hugely successful mobile MOBA Honor of Kings in Europe under the new name Arena of Valor.

The launch covers every European country including Germany, France, and Spain. The game had previously been available in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, and eleven other countries in the region under the name Strike of Kings.

Arena of Valor was revealed as the new name for the game in July 2017. Tencent had asked for players of the game for suggestions for a new title back in May 2017.

Honor of Kings has been an enormous success both in China and around the world. As of January 2017 it had over 50 million DAUs, and it is currently the highest-grossing game of the year.

The Western release has been altered slightly to adjust to the culture and tastes of the players. This includes a deal with DC Comics which sees characters such as Batman join the game's playable character roster.
