Bit Loom wins student Dare Academy game design competition
Bit Loom has won the Dare Academy game design competition for students with its double-ended dog puzzler PHOGS!.
The contest was set up by Abertay University as a replacement for the previous Dare To Be Digital program. All of the teams were made up of Abertay University students.
Judges for the competition include All4Games’ Colin Macdonald, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Luke Savage, Rare’s Louise O'Connor and Peter Campbell, and Xbox’s Neil Holmes.

As part of their prize for coming first, Bit Loom team members Douglas Flinders, Henry Pullan and James Wood have won a fully paid trip to Indiecade in Los Angeles in October.
The two runners-up for the Dare Academy contest were 8Bit10 with their game King of the Castle, and Wee Door with Oil.
8Bit10 has won a paid trip to China to meet some of the world’s largest games companies, while the Wee Door team will head on an expenses-paid trip to India.
