Future Games of London's Hungry Shark series chomps up 500 million downloads

Ubisoft-owned Future Games of London's Hungry Shark series has racked up over 500 million downloads.

The franchise’s arcade-style gameplay allows players to assume the role of a shark and rise to the top of the food chain to unlock more fearsome upgrades.

Hungry Shark World was launched May 5th 2016 and made a quick start to life, passing 10 million downloads just six days after launch.

Previous instalment Hungry Shark Evolution also enjoyed some success and generated over 80 million downloads.

Gotta eat ‘em all

Ubisoft has now released the latest instalment in the franchise, Hungry Shark World, on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

On console the title will come with a premium price tag of $9.99, rather than be free-to-play like its mobile counterparts.
