Next Games’ mobile RPG Blade Runner 2049 hits open beta

Finnish developer Next Games has launched an open beta for its new sci-fi mobile RPG Blade Runner 2049 on Android.

The studio initially revealed its partnership with Alcon Entertainment to develop the title in June last year.

Blade Runner 2049’s story revolves around a new blade runner who is tasked with collecting evidence to aid in hunting down rogue replicants.

Gameplay features staple characters from the series who are collectable and will aid players in overcoming threats. Freshly formed teams can be powered up to take on more challenging targets with proportionate awards.

It also features multiplayer functionality as other players can be enlisted to help accomplish missions.

Up and running

The news follows as Next Games just recently released another game based on a popular IP, The Walking Dead: Our World.

The location-based augmented reality game hit the top 10 download rankings in 40 different countries in its opening weekend.

Following its launch on Google Play and the App Store on July 12th, just some of the countries its reached the upper echelons of the download charts in include the US, Germany, UK, France and Spain.
