Bowmasters and Tank Stars bring Playgendary its best quarter yet for revenue and downloads

Hyper-casual games publisher Playgendary's IAP revenue shot up 57 per cent during Q3 2018

This quarter has been an overwhelming success for hyper-casual games publisher Playgendary as revenue increased by 57 per cent.

Sensor Tower reports that renewed interest in the company's older titles drove growth this quarter, with 2016’s Bowmasters bringing in $4 million worldwide across both the App Store and Google Play.

Growing 30 per cent up from last quarter, revenue from Bowmasters accounted for nearly a quarter of Playgendary’s $16.5 million total for the quarter. Tank Stars is also named as one of the publisher's top earners for the quarter.

Growth masters

That success was echoed by fellow 2016 release Tomb of the Mask, which saw 28 million extra installs over the last quarter. The arcade title saw an astounding 900 per cent growth quarter-over-quarter, making it the fourth-fastest growing game in the quarter.

Across its entire catalogue, Playgendary experienced a 20 per cent increase in downloads quarter-over-quarter. That brings the publisher to a lifetime total of 318 million downloads, with playing spending reaching over $39 million.

It should be noted that Sensor Tower's data does not take into account advertising - a key part of Playgendary's earnings.
