Player One signs global distro deal with THQ Wireless

THQ Wireless has announced a global distribution deal with UK mobile games publisher Player One.

THQ will be exclusively publishing Player One's range of sports titles outside the UK, in what the firm is describing as a "long-term" deal.

It'll cover Java and BREW versions of Player One's 2008-09 roadmap, including Phil Taylor's Power Darts 2008, Ronnie O'Sullivan Snooker, Table Tennis Star and Ernie Els Golf.

"Working with THQ Wireless' top-tier global distribution expertise represents a significant opportunity to grow the mobile audience for Player One Sports' games," says MD Pete Russell.

The deal fills a hole in THQ Wireless' portfolio, providing it with a stable of non-US-focused sports games.

While Player One has tended to focus on the UK, several of its titles have clear appeal in other countries for example Table Tennis Star in Asia, and games involving well-known personalities like Ernie Els and Freddie Flintoff.
