Next Great Mobile Game category added to IGF
The Independent Games Festival Mobile is a hugely important part of the annual Game Developers Conference, and has grown in popularity since the introduction of the iPhone and massive proliferation of mobile gaming.
The IGF Mobile awards ceremony is taking place on March 24th as part of the GDC, and will host a pitching session for finalists of the Next Great Mobile Game category.
Entrants will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their ideas and concepts to the IGF audience, which will then vote on their favourite upcoming game from mobile, iPhone, DS, PSP and other handheld platforms.
The winner of the Next Great Mobile Game award will receive $2000 of the IGF Mobiles $30,000 prize pool, though perhaps more importantly will be given space alongside the other winners at the pavilion to showcase their work-in-progress games.
The GDC is taking place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco from March 23rd to 27th.
