Nintendo has announced that the system update for the 3DS, previously cited for release in November, is in the latter stages of testing and will now be expected to launch on 8 December.
The update will allow users to transfer data between 3DS devices, as well as provide 3D video recording capabilities for the 3DS Camera.

New game content will also be added in StreetPass Mii Plaza, including Find Mii II.
The free update will be followed shortly after by an additional update, though we'll have to wait and see what that entails.
It had been rumoured in Japanese newspaper Nikkei that Nintendo is considering adding micro-transaction capabilities to its 3DS device with a firmware update due in 2012.
