The Edinburgh Interactive Festival (EIF) has announced that Nintendo has signed up as a partner for this year's event, due to be held on 10-16th August.

The festival will combine a conference with screenings, game demos and Protoplay, a showcase of new game ideas from students at The University of Abertay.

“We are very pleased to be a part of the Edinburgh Interactive Festival once again this year," says David Yarnton, general manager of Nintendo UK.

"The festival is unique in that it brings together all the different aspects and facets of our business under one roof and provides the perfect opportunity for us all to celebrate our industry's rich creative diversity."

The conference side of EIF is welcoming proposal papers now. If you've got an idea, email wendy@hyperentertainment.com. Or more more info, check the official website.

EIF has included mobile elements for several years now - last year's event saw Nokia's Scott Foe delivering a well-received keynote - so we're keen to find out what presence mobile will have this time round.
