Being the world's largest handset manufacturer naturally means releasing a lot of handsets, but it seems Nokia might have tipped its own balance and created a throw away culture among its customers.

A report on ElectricPig shows the Nokia N95 at the top of the list when it comes to recycled smartphones, which isn't a huge surprise given that most everyone who has the handset will now be out of (or have renewed) their contract.

But the former flagship device, the N97, is also high up the list as the eighth most recycled device. Given that it only launched last June, it's not a good sign for Nokia that its high-end handset is apparently so easily disposable.

Indeed, Nokia features very heavily at the top of the recycled phones list (with data drawn from used phone buyer Sell My Mobile), so either people can't wait to get this week's new Nokia handset or they're consistently disappointed with the company in general.
