Speaking to DigitalMediaWire at the LA Games Conference, industry veteran and father of Atari Nolan Bushnell spoke quite openly about his opinions on the future of the games industry, saying: "The bloom is off the rose in terms of physical media."

Although he doesn't believe mobile gaming is a feasible platform due to the small screen, he does go on to say that he plays games on his iPhone every day, for at least an hour.

"I'm currently playing on the iPhone's chess with about 12 of my friends," the gaming legends explains. "It's great fun, and it's actually an interesting way to keep in touch."

Though Bushnell hasn't been involved in the world-changing company for a long time, the Atari brand is due another buyout, this time by Namco Bandai. Bushnell's few career regrets aren't aimed at his old game development firm.

"Oh, I've got all kinds of regrets," Bushnell laughs. "Turning down a third of Apple Computers for $50,000 is probably one of the big ones!"
