Oberon launches its meta-social web and mobile gaming platform Blaze

Social games are a vocal beast: every action and award a player receives broadcast via social networks in a bid to attract more and more players.
Of course, longterm success relies on having prominent placings on all the big social and casual platforms a factor that can involve hefty development work.
As such, Oberon Media's new Blaze platform which promises to open up major markets to studios could be a vital tool in a social developer's arsenal.
Multiple marvel
Blaze, which launches today with its SDK release, allows studios to publish their titles on major social platforms across both web and mobile. Players can play these games on any supported social, casual or mobile platform and share their achievements via Facebook Connect.
Or as the company grandly puts it, with Blaze's launch, "Oberon is poised to become the largest distributor for social games outside of social networking sites".
Game for a change
The Blaze platform will distribute Oberons game to just about any web site operated by its partners, which includes more than 150 Oberon supported distribution sites, with an overall userbase of 50 million monthly active users.
Chief strategy officer at Oberon, Ofer Leidner, said Blaze is already supported by the likes of AT&T the carrier launched an Oberon powered portal AT&T Games.
"It's a game-changing platform," Leidner explained.
"It tears down the wall between social and casual games. Our partners gain access to an exciting array of games that use social integration to generate traffic and increase revenue.
"And consumers are able to access all their favourite social and casual games in one place. It's a win, win, win solution for everyone."
The launch of Blaze follows the debut of Sibblingz' cross-platform engine back in May, which too offers studios the ability to publish games across multiple social sites through its set-up.
