OpenFeint brings games discovery platform Game Channel to Android

OpenFeint might have indulged in a spate of trading places internally following the departure of former CEO and founder Jason Citron, but on the outside, its efforts to drive its business forward continue.
As such, app discovery platform Game Channel is spreading its wings from its base on iOS to make an appearance on Android.
The app looks to push titles at like-minded users to help developer's grow their game's audience.

Its launch comes after the free-to-play focused channel was originally unveiled for Android via a deal with AT&T back in February.
Now hitting Android in full, developers will be able to take advantage of its promotional features, including a regular featured game spot, a free game of the day and a selection of curated game lists.
"We learned a lot about discovery on Android with our Spotlight app and with Game Channel on iOS, and we're confident Game Channel for Android will be the best way for Android gamers to find new titles on the platform," said Eros Resmini, senior vice president of marketing and developer relations.
"As Android gaming continues to mature, Game Channel will provide an ideal solution for free-to-play developers looking for innovative distribution channels."
The Game Channel app also provides access to OpenFeint's social features from within the app itself, allowing users to view their profile page without navigating away from the channel.
