Following up its initial competition at the end of last year, PayPal has launched a second contest designed to reward the apps that make best use of it PayPal X payment API.

This time PayPal is offering a top prize worth $100,000, with $50,000 set to be planted directly in the winning studio's bank account, with a further $50,000 offered in waived transaction fees.

A further $60,000 will be split between six other 'X Awards' that split apps in terms of chosen platform and type of developer.

The winner will be selected from this pool by PayPal itself and a body of external judges.

Developers interested in entering should check out the full terms and conditions on the PayPal X website, with studios who enter before August 4th entered to win one of 10 iPads.
