Pitch to the pros at GCDC 2008

Next week sees the double-whammy of the GC Developers Conference and the Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany.
Planning to attend? There's a chance to show off your creativity and ability to cope with pressure. How? In a session at the GCDC event on Monday. It's called 'Six Elevator Pitches', and happens at 5pm.
Participating teams will receive sealed envelopes with briefs from fictitious clients, and will have half an hour to come up with a mobile game idea for it, before presenting it to a panel of judges.
Think of it as a bit like an X-Factor for mobile games, except without anyone as attractive as Cheryl Cole or ridiculous as Simon Cowell on the panel.
Judges include Jamba's Thomas Richter, Hands-On Mobile's Jens Dissmann, Nokia's Nick Malaperiman, and IMGA organiser Maarten Noyons. Oh, and me.
The winner will walk away with a Nokia handset and an official certificate, while all the brainstormed entries will be able to enter the IMGA awards and Nokia's Innovation Challenge.
There are still spaces available to take part. All you need to do is round up a team of up to four people, and send an email to maarten.noyons@imgawards.com with 'Six Elevator Pitches' in the subject line.
See you there! A full team from PocketGamer.biz and Pocket Gamer will be attending both shows next week, too.
