Qualcomm's Uplinq conference gets talks from Nokia's Elop, HP's Rubinstein and HTC's Cho

As its record financial figures demonstrate, Qualcomm is riding the smartphone wave like few other technology companies.
And it's making plenty of powerful friends in the industry too, as demonstrated by the line up for its Uplinq conference, to be held in the company's HQ city San Diego on June 1 and 2.
CEO Paul Jacobs will kick off the event with his keynote entitled Mobile Computing: The Next Great Frontier. Then he will be joined by HP/Palm senior vice president Jon Rubinstein for a 'fireside chat'.
On day two, HTC's Peter Chou will open proceedings, while Nokia CEO Stephen Elop will also be giving his thoughts.
Learn, make friends
More generally, Uplinq provides developers with the inner track on Qualcomm's activities, ranging from platforms such as Android, Windows Phone 7, Brew MP and webOS to developing for its Snapdragon chips, mobile Web technologies and content monetisation strategies.
"Uplinq is designed to provide technical and business content and networking opportunities tuned to the needs of the key players within the wireless ecosystem," said Bill Davidson, Qualcomm's senior vice president of global marketing.
"These industry leaders will share their insight and vision for the future of wireless, and attendees will have the opportunity to learn about development and monetisation opportunities across multiple operating systems."
