While only a small part of EA's announcement that it's sold 3.2 million console and PC versions of its annual football series, the release of FIFA 12's iOS figures does demonstrate the company's taking the platform seriously.
A total of 879,000 units in the launch week, even at a price of $4.99 for the iPhone version and $9.99 for the iPad version, would have generated at least $3 million (and as much as $5 million depending on platform split) in net revenue.
That's not much in the big scheme of EA Mobile's annual turnover - last year $230 million - but not bad for a week's work.
As EA also points out, the game has been the top grossing app on iPhone on 30 countries.
