iPad 3 rumoured to start mass production in Q1 2012
Batteries to be thinner and lighter
A report surfacing from Taiwan Economic News has suggested iPad 3 will be entering full scale production in Q1 2012.
It's also said Simplo Technology and Dynapack International Technology are making a new battery, which although costing 20-30 percent more, will be thinner and lighter, with a much longer service life than the iPad 2 equivalent.
Hardware rejinks
In turn, this will allow better internal design, making room for iPad's rumoured adoption of the Retina display. Or maybe some of the $1 billion apparently injected by Apple into a Toshiba factory signifies another surprise yet to surface?
Then again, it could simply mean iPad 3 will be thinner than previous iterations.
