RIM on the hunt for software developer to bolster BlackBerry's social standing

Having acquired Scoreloop back in 2011, BlackBerry manufacturer RIM is now looking to up the social platform's effectiveness by hiring a new software developer.
The position advertised on the PocketGamer.biz jobs board will focus on ensuring Scoreloop fully integrates with the community of developers tapping into the network, helping to make the forthcoming BlackBerry 10 a "great gaming platform."
What's the score?
The winning candidate will be charged with extending Scoreloop's SDK and apps, working with client side teams to build in new features and collect feedback from developers using the platform, amongst other tasks.
RIM requires those applying have excellent knowledge of C/C++ and developing resuable components and libraries, as well as a handle on BB10's native SDK.
"If you're driven to take wireless technologies to the next level, it's time you join the team at RIM," details the company.
"We offer a challenging environment that fosters creativity and rewards excellence. Employees also have use of our award winning BlackBerry."
Game onGames are, indeed, likely to be a very important cog in the BB10 wheel according to director of business development of the gaming division Volker Hirsch, with the handsets described as "shit hot" in a recent interview with PocketGamer.biz.
"The gaming experience on BlackBerry 10 is a completely different one than it would have been on the old ones," said Hirsch.
"When I joined BlackBerry as part of the Scoreloop acquisition, there was limited mindshare in the developer field for the platform, but I think that has changed very quickly."
