Rumours of next-gen iPhone camera come into focus

Rumours of a next gen iPhone, in many ways, are a safe bet. What with iPhone being the top mobile handset in the US, Apple are obviously going to continue to build on the phenomenon.

But DigiTimes reckons it's cottoned onto a morsel of tasty info about the next model, expected sometime in the latter half of 2010.

Apparently the current supplier of the iPhone and iPhone 3GS camera CCD, OmniVision, has acquired a new order for 5 megapixel image sensors believed to be for the next generation of Apple handhelds.

It's not earth-shattering news, but if true, it does suggest that Apple is already underway with a new model of iPhone - even if it's just an upgrade to the iPhone 3GS.
