SCEE announces sponsorship as Game Connection unveils final 15 in indie games competition

Organisers behind this year's Game Connection Europe have lifted the lid on the 15 games that will contest the event's unsigned game projects award.
The winner - which will be announced at Game Connection itself, running from December 6-8 in Paris will be awarded PS3 and PS Vita dev kits, as well as a training day at Sony's London offices, thanks to a new partnership with SCEE.
A game connection
"It's vital to our industry that the major video game companies continue to support development at a grassroots level, so we're very pleased and excited that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has chosen to give its valuable support to the Selected Projects 2012 initiative," said Game Connection creator Pierre Carde, revealing the firm will present a special award of its own.
"We're looking forward to the presentations and to once again seeing the enormous boost the Selected Projects initiative can give to unsigned projects."
Each of the final 15 games will be presented to a panel of publishers, investors and industry experts before the winner is chosen, with runners up also earning a trip to SCEE's London HQ for training.
Previous winners of the award's predecessor the Level Up program include Bulkypix and Limbo developer Playdead.
The full line-up of contenders can be found on the event's website (PDF).
