Sega has announced it is to partner with PapayaMobile over the launch of Android RPG Fallen Realms, with the title set to tap into Papaya's social gaming SDK.

It's the first time the two parties have come together, allowing the game which will be deployed on Papaya's network at launch to reach out to the platform's 38 million strong userbase.

New ground

Social features set to make the cut naturally include the ability to add friends through Papaya's network, as well as a link into the platform's 'circles' community, where players can communicate with one another.

"Partnering with PapayaMobile for Fallen Realms made perfect sense for us," said senior VP of digital business at Sega of America, Haruki Satomi.

"PapayaMobile offers us a way to complement the fun playing experience found in Fallen Realms with social features to help us build a highly-engaged community of players."

Big player

Sega is undoubtedly a big catch for Papaya, which has been fighting for space of late against Japanese rivals GREE and DeNA.

As such, senior directior for developer relations Paul Chen said the partnership represented a major step forward for the firm.

"We are thrilled to bring a unique, fresh and thrilling title to the Papaya Network," he said.

"As we continue to grow, having quality titles that appeal to all types of social gamers be it hardcore or casual is a top priority of ours. Fallen Realms will surely resonate with adventure and light-RPG fans looking for fun and excitement on the Papaya Network."
