In the two weeks since game-creation tool Sketch Nation Studio for iOS first hit the App Store, users have created more than 2,000 games using its toolset.

That's according to stats released by the studio behind it - Engineous Games with the keen to highlight the community that has built around the free app, which allows users with no knowledge of programming to create their own games by uploading art assets.

The creator

The best of these creations are due to be published by Engineous itself, retailing on the App Store for 99c. Once Apple has taken its cut, the remaining 70c of revenue will be split 50:50 between Engineous and the game's creator.

Indeed, that process has already begun.

Sketch Nation Studio creations such as Yummy Bunny and Disc Golf: Aced! now available to download from the App Store, with "dozens" more user-generated titles to follow.

To give aspiring designers an idea of exactly what they can create in-app, Engineous has also made three Sketch Nation Studio creations - Spooky Jump, Turkey Run, and Draakon - available for free.
