Ad firm Smaato has announced a partnership with App Annie to deliver what's described as market intelligence driven analytics for developers on iOS.

In short, App Annie's analytics which have already been tapped up by more than 330,000 apps - are to be worked into Smaato's SOMA ad platform.

Of particular benefit are App Annie's historical ranking features, with Smaato claiming the integration of App Annie's analytics will be welcomed by studios already utilising SOMA.

"We are glad to partner with App Annie on providing more value and insights for our iPhone/iPad app developers," said Smaato CEO and founder Ragnar Kruse.

"This service now helps our partners to monitor their success in the different markets and give them insights about the iOS marketplace."

Analytics for all

Its not the first time App Annie has lent its analytics set up to a third party.

Back in May, FreeAppADay was the first firm to link up with the company, though App Annie CEO Bertrand Schmitt said the current deal goes beyond previous partnerships.

"Our partnership with Smaato is a proof of our commitment to help advertising networks provide more extensive statistics to their customers," he said.

"It's the first time we are integrating with a third party provider; Smaato's vision was a perfect match with App Annie leading market intelligence services."
