Sony Interactive Entertainment has appointed Hideaki Nishino as its new president and CEO, effective from Tuesday, April 1st 2025.

Nishino has been at the PlayStation company since 2000. In June 2024, he was promoted from SVP of the platform experience group to CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s platform business group. 

He oversees technology, products, services, platform experience, third-party relations, and commercial operations. Hermen Hulst, who is currently CEO of the studio business group, will report to Nishino. 

Sony also said that effective from April 1st, Hiroki Totoki will step down as Sony Interactive Entertainment chairman to become president and CEO of Sony Group Corporation. Lin Tao will leave her role as SVP of finance at SIE to become Sony Group’s CFO, with her successor to be announced later.

A new chapter
