Stripe launches guide for iOS external payments amid Apple's policy changes

Payments platform Stripe has revealed it is prepared to help iOS developers bypass Apple’s App Store commission fees by enabling external payment processing.
Stripe's commitment to support developers comes after the latest Apple-Epic antitrust ruling, where the judge criticised Apple for ignoring a previous order to allow external payment links.
The payment processing platform has now released documentation to help iOS developers bypass Apple’s commission by using external payment methods.
Stripe product manager Michael Luo took to X (formerly Twitter) to share that the team has also prepared a guide to walk developers through how they can accept payments using the platform.
Supporting developers
Using Stripe requires developers to set up and maintain their own payment page and checkout experience but with a 2.9% + \$0.30 transaction fee.
Apple permitted external payment links but only reduced its 30% commission by 3% and added "scare screens" to warn users about off-App Store payments.
Judge Rogers ruled that Apple’s policy violated her previous injunction and ordered the company to change its approach immediately.
