Stugan 2016 applications closed, location of summer program announced

Swedish non-profit games accelerator Stugan has announced the location of its 2016 summer program, which will take place from July 8 until August 27.

The program will be held in the locality of Bjursas, a popular ski resort in the Falun municipality which overlooks Lake Bjursen.

"We are very excited to return to the Falun municipality for the 2016 program and this new location, which is just as scenic and inspiring as last year’s location," said Stugan manager Jana Karlikova.

Growing interest

"We received twice as many applications as last year with an unprecedented level of quality and are now carefully going through them to pick the final participants."

This year saw teams from 43 countries across the globe apply for places, from which 20 will be chosen to spend seven weeks in a Swedish cabin making games, with all expenses paid.

The teams will also receive lectures, workshops, and mentoring from leading Swedish and international developers, with support from the likes of DICE, Mojang, Resolution Games, and more.
