Córdoba-based game tech company The OGs has proclaimed the passing of co-CEO Pablo Navajas.

Parent company OV Entertainment released a statement expressing “deep sadness" over the news. It said that Navajas had been battling cancer for two years.

“Pablo was much more than a leader," OV Entertainment wrote. “Father of Sakura, Narumi, and Yuriko, a devoted husband to Yanina, a brother, a friend, and a mentor.

“Intelligent, curious, and audacious, he left an indelible mark not only on the games industry but on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him."

OV Entertainment CEO Thiago de Freitas also posted: “What drew me to him wasn't just his dreams, it was his heart. It was never just about business, but about the people behind it. His heart and soul made us all his biggest fans.

“His legacy will live on through the countless people he inspired by example. And they will continue building the place he and his brother always dreamed of. That dream is mine too.  l'll always be here for you, hermano."

Building The OGs

Navajas had a diverse and extensive background in game development and education. He co-founded The OGs with his brother Mauricio Navajas and served as co-CEO of the studio.

Previously, he held roles as COO and CTO at the same studio, contributing to its growth over 11 years. He also taught courses in game programming, computer graphics, virtual environments, and mobile technologies at institutions like UPC and Instituto Universitario Aeronáutico.

Earlier in their career, he worked as a freelance iOS/Android developer and held positions at Intel and Gameloft, specialising in C++ and mobile game development. Beyond his technical expertise, Navajas was a mentor and inspiration to many.
