The ExPlay Festival is returning to Bath for its fourth year this Halloween to celebrate, discuss, and analyse trends in modern indie gaming.

Running from Thursday October 31 to Friday November 1, ExPlay 2013 will kick off with a keynote from Thomas Was Alone creator Mike Bithell during which he'll discuss his unannounced, upcoming release.

In addition to the usual festival programme of panels and discussions, ExPlay 2013 will also introduce the Indie Games Olympics where attendees can complete for fame, glory, and - of course - prizes by earning top scores.

Independent and proud

Last year, we learned a lot from the ExPlay conference and found the panels on writing in mobile games and the importance of opening up play to the disabled particularly informative.

ExPlay 2013's schedule is still be finalised, but those interested in finding out more can visit the official website.

Speaking on the upcoming event, festival Director Ella Romanos noted that, "This year, we are focusing on continuing our great speaker line up, plus introducing some fun new events in our expo area, and also providing more opportunities for great networking."
