THQ (NMS: THQI) has revealed that its THQ Wireless subsidiary generated $5.9 million of revenues during Q4 2008 (the company's third quarter for its full-year 2009).

That's a rise of 12.4 per cent year-on-year, although it's a 4.6 per cent slide sequentially from Q3's $6.2 million of revenues. The figures are the same for GAAP and non-GAAP.

During Q4, wireless accounted for just 1.7 per cent of THQ's GAAP revenues, down from 3.8 per cent in Q3, although this isn't a surprise given Q4's traditional importance for console game sales.

How important is mobile to THQ? It merited a single mention in the company's analyst call last night - and that was just to briefly restate the fact that the publisher downsized its wireless division last week in order to focus on high-end games.

That said, the analysts clearly weren't interested in THQ's plans for high-end mobile games either - none of them asked about this aspect of the publisher's restructure.

THQ is the third publisher to declare its Q4 mobile games revenues, with Gameloft (Paris: GFT.PA) having reported €33.8 million of revenues for Q4 (around $43.5 million) - although that figure includes some console/handheld revenues - and EA Mobile (NMS: ERTSreporting $48 million of Q4 GAAP revenues for the quarter.
