Ad tech firm AppLovin has completed the sale of its mobile games business to Tripledot Studios for $400 million in cash and an equity stake of 20% in Tripledot.

The deal, which was first announced in May, officially closed on June 30th, 2025 after meeting all closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

The fee is subject to closing adjustments and there was no promissory note involved. As part of the deal, AppLovin's mobile game studios and franchises will now belong to Tripledot.

The studios include Athena Studio, Belka Games, Clipwire Games, Leyi, Lion Studios, Machine Zone, Magic Tavern, PeopleFun, Zenlife Games, and Zeroo Gravity.

Forging a new path

Following the acquisition, Tripledot now operates 12 studios, including the 10 acquired from AppLovin.

The company has expanded to 23 cities, employs over 2,500 people, serves 25m daily active users, and expects to generate nearly $2 billion in annual gross revenue.

“We would like to extend our gratitude to our game studios who were an instrumental part of AppLovin’s journey,” said AppLovin CEO and co-founder Adam Foroughi. “Their love for mobile games fueled our growth, and we wish them continued success with Tripledot Studios.

“The closing of this transaction streamlines the Company to its core business and allows us to fully focus on the exciting opportunities that will shape and define the future of our company.”

Earlier this year, we spoke with Tripledot CEO and co-founder Lior Shiff, who stated that the deal would see Tripledot be "one of the most, if not the most, diversified mobile games companies at scale."
