For reasons as of yet unknown, Three is warning customers in the UK that the launch of Samsung's Galaxy Nexus has been hit by a delay.

Consumers were expected to receive their handsets on November 17, but the operator claims it now doesn't expect devices to ship out until five days later.

Christmas rush

"For anyone who pre-ordered Galaxy Nexus yesterday, due to stock delays your delivery has changed to November 22," the firm claimed in a tweet.

Neither Google nor Samsung has offered any official comment, though both will be hoping any delay if confirmed isn't extended, with the firm's looking to take on Apple's iPhone 4S at the tills in the run up to Christmas.

The "super slim" Nexus, sports a 4.65-inch display, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 4G LTE or HSPA+ technology, and will be the first handset to ship with Android 4.0, otherwise known as Ice Cream Sandwich.
