Northern Ireland-based Billy Goat Entertainment has revealed it is to host an 'intense' four day game development course at its Belfast studio designed to aid fresh developers on the scene.

The course, which runs from 15 - 18 February, aims to introduce all aspects of modern-day game development to participants, giving them the skills needed to work on their own projects in the future.

Four point plan

Billy Goat itself has spent the last couple of years making a name for itself in mobile, having worked on 3D action adventure Outfoxed and, more recently, Chain Reaction Cycles: Pro-Cycling.

Over the four days, participants will learn how to model and animate a 3D character using Autodesk Maya, how to construct levels from 3D models using Unity 3D, how to use scripts to control their game, whilst also being taught about the production pipeline in a real video game studio.

Billy Goat also promises that by the end of the course participants will have made significant progress on a game of their very own.

Tuition fees

For those looking to take part, the four day workshop will cost £300: a fee that covers teaching costs, food for participants, and the cost of a 'goodie bag' containing training material and other useful tools.
