Unless your iPhone is jailbroken, the Apple handset won't actually allow you to record video. A new application from YouTube competitor Ustream has just changed all that, however, by launching the Ustream Live Broadcaster, which allows users to not only record video but stream it directly to the web.

This is the first live video streaming service Apple has allowed onto the App Store, and it lets users record video either to the handset for uploading later, or (assuming signal strength is good enough) stream it directly to the Upstream servers.

Ustream Live Broadcaster also packs in the social aspects of video sharing by integrating the iPhone app with Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, and even allows for geotagging, live chat with your viewers and live polling.

Ustream Live Broadcaster only requires a free account registration to begin using the service, and appears to be gaining massive popularity thanks to the immediacy of its access.
