VentureBeat reveals Who's Got Game finalists

Tech blog VentureBeat has announced the finalists for its Who's Got Game? startup contest, which is due to be held at its GamesBeat 09 later this month.

Seven have been chosen from more than 50 entries, and several are relevant to mobile gaming.

For example, Akoha runs alternate reality games spanning mobile, web and physical media, while Exponential Entertainment is making games based around movies for a variety of platforms.

Meanwhile, Gamboler tries to match independent developers with individual investors, and focuses on iPhone devs as well as Flash and PC downloads.

The startups will each present for five minutes at the GamesBeat conference, with a panel of judges deciding the winner.
