Zeemote announces Mexican distribution deal

Zeemote has signed another distribution deal for its JS1 Bluetooth mobile gaming controller, with Mexico's largest operator Telcel.

They'll be bundling the JS1 with Sony Ericsson's W760i handset and a 2GB memory card, not to mention a preloaded copy of Fishlabs's Heli-Strike.

"We are delighted to be the first operator in Mexico to bring the Zeemote JS1 Wireless Controller to market, delivering mobile games to our customers in a way they have never experienced," says Luis Ramón, VP of mobile devices at Telcel.

Zeemote-enabled games will be sold through Sony Ericsson's Fun and Downloads portal in Mexico, too, as well as the separate PlayNow service. It remains to be seen whether Telcel will add a Zeemote section to its own games portal.

The bundle goes on sale this month in Telcel retailers and online. It's Zeemote's first distribution deal in Latin America.
