Zeemote launches mobile games developers contest

Zeemote has announced its Zeemote Ready Developers Contest 2009, which aims to reward mobile game developers with cash prizes for creating games that support its Zeemote JS1 controller.
The contest kicks off today and runs until mid-July, with Zeemote inviting developers and publishers to submit games that support the Zeemote SDK for either analogue joystick game control, or simultaneous multiplayer gaming. Or, indeed, both.
New games or modified versions of existing titles can be entered, with the ultimate winner scooping $7,500, while the second-placed game will earn $2,500.
Small beans for many publishers and developers, although the chance for additional distribution through Zeemote's partner network is an added appeal.
Entries will be judged by a panel (including PocketGamer.biz), before the winners are announced in mid-August.
Meanwhile, Zeemote has reiterated its ambition to launch the JS1 in the UK and US this year, as well as further launches across South America, Asia and Europe.
