Zynga's Star Wars: Hunters is set to shut down less than a year after it launched.

The squad-based arena shooter which was developed by Zynga and its subsidiary NaturalMotion will be discontinued on October 1st, 2025.

Star Wars: Hunters will receive its final content update on April 15, 2025, with in-game purchases disabled. Online servers will then be shut down in October, making the game unplayable after that date.

"We understand this news may be disappointing and we want to assure you that this decision was not made lightly," the developer said on its website.

"Your passion and dedication to the game and its community have meant the world to us, and we are committed to providing visibility and updates throughout the transition process."

Come March 25th, Zynga said that Season 5 and Ranked Season will be extended by three weeks to give players more time to reach Kyber 1 rank in the game. It will also re-run events and shop bundles from Season 5.

From launch to shutdown

The title faced multiple delays from its planned 2021 release to 2024, with limited regional soft launches for testing and improvements.

As of June 4, 2024, the game was finally available worldwide on Android, iOS, and Nintendo Switch, marking a major moment for Zynga after a turbulent development period.

In light of its imminent discontinuity, Zynga confirmed that unused in-game currency is non-refundable and that Star Wars: Hunters will be sunset across all platforms, including PC, which will no longer launch.
