Pocket Gamer and App Annie light up the Tokyo night with VIP-studded TGS party

Pocket Gamer and App Annie brought together the biggest names in the Japanese gaming industry for a night of wonder(land) themed networking at the exclusive Ele club as part of the Tokyo Games Show.

The CEOs of Gungho, Gumi, Mixi and Klab, plus senior management at Bandai Namco, Crooz, DeNA, GREE, Konami, Nexon, Sega and Septeni mingled with international visitors from Amazon, Facebook, Google, Wooga, Rovio, Kabam and Kamcord as over 500 decided to see how deep the rabbit hole really went.

A real mad hatter's tea party

Indeed the event proved almost too popular at times with long lines formed outside the venue from 8pm (sorry if you had to queue).

But fortunately, everyone eventually got inside to enjoy the awesome glittery venue and App Annie's generous hospitality.

There wasn't too much in the way of hedgehog croquet or smoking caterpillars, but as a reflection of the prosperity and amiability of the mobile industry smiles were as wide as a Cheshire Cats and the only Mad Hatter was Steel Media's own MD, who couldn't resist the call for a little cosplay.

On reflection though, perhaps the 'drink me' labels were an unnecessary addition.

Thanks once again to all of our illustrious guests and our sponsors App Annie, and you can see the full photo gallery on our Facebook page.
